Juniors prepare for big match

We would like to start this week with a big thank you to all our readers for your reports and pictures.

We would also like to wish Worksop cadets, juniors and intermediates the best of luck in tomorrow’s Junior Nationals at Woodlands View and Moorlands in the West Midlands. Tight lines to all the lads and lasses.

Through the Grapevine

The British Waterways/Grafton AA junior match is to be held on the John Shaw’s section of the canal on Friday 29th July.
The draw is at the Lock Keeper at 5pm and fishing is from 6pm to 9pm.
There are two age groups: 10 to 12 and 13 to 16. Tickets are £2 and are available from Ken Wards.As reported in last week’s column the whole east coast beaches are producing large numbers of quality bass.

Rhodesia angler Keith Hespin had a grand total of 11 bass to 3½lb with his fishing partner beaching 12.
For some weeks we have been putting in through the grapevine about forming a sea fishing club in the area.
Alan the landlord of the Woodhouse Inn has approached us to offer the pub as a venue for meetings, so if you are interested please ring him on 01909 472747.

Worksop and District Angling Club are asking members to bring back their trophies at the next meeting on 21st July at Manton Miners’ Welfare.Worksop United’s next match is on Sunday 17th July. Please register as soon as possible.

Terry, Luke and Nick from Hallcroft are pleased to announce their new sponsors are Diawa. They intend to run a veterans series on Thursdays (moat) and from Tuesday 26th July. There is also a series of junior matches throughout the summer holidays. For further information ring 01777 710448.

Mick Pogson of Worksop AA would like us to give you a final reminder for the OAP Bassetlaw Festival match for Tuesday 12th July at Sandhill Lake. Entry Fee is £5 and draw is at 9am.Worksop Piscatorials’ next match is their annual held on the duck pond at North Scarle on 17th July. Draw is 8.30am.Grafton AA are running their Tuesday evening open matches on the Chesterfield canal.
