Godfrey goes for gold

We would like to start this week’s column by wishing Matt Godfrey all the best for the under 16s World Championships next weekend.
The Worksop Angling Supplies sponsored ace will travel to Novi-Sad, Serbia to fish a tributary off the river Danube near Belgrade.
With the first part of the week spent practicing on the venue the final will take place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July.
And Matt had the perfect warm up to the championships with a first place in the final practice match on the river Nene with a winning weight of 6½lb.
Best of luck Matt from all anglers from the Worksop area, especially your parents on your ambition of a gold medal.
