Juniors impress again at triathlon

Last Saturday saw the second leg of the Worksop Junior Triathlon match fished on the Sandhill Lake in conditions that were far from ideal after the first frost of the year.
Yet again we were impressed by the high standard of angling from all the youngsters.
In the under 16 event Worksop Angling Supplies-backed Junior World Champion Matt Godfrey managed yet another win with 12lb 7oz narrowly beating second placed Mick Scott by one ounce while Marc Playfoot was third with 6lb 13oz.
The under 12s match was won by Devon Whitworth with a weight of 3lb 8oz, in second place was Hannah Godfrey with 2lb 4oz and third was Jordan Scott with 10oz.
All the juniors displayed a high level of perseverance and talent and it is fair to say that many seniors would have struggled to match the winning weights on the day.
