Cambridge angler Mark Searle netted this fantastic 11lb 9oz specimen at Rutland Water last Thursday (14th Oct 04).

In Mark's words "the conditions were very wet and cold".

Using a gold/silver tube fly on a slime line the fish was taken down the bottom of the south arm on the fourth drift of the day.

Mark's fish fell just 11/2oz short of the biggest taken this season.
